1903 poster by Agnes Joseph extolling the virtues of the Sussex Downs through the slightly clichéd depiction of a milkmaid.

The poster refers to 'Brighton Railway', which I find odd since the line from London to Brighton was established by the London & Brighton Railway in 1840. That became part of the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway on its foundation in 1846. I can only assume that Brighton Railway was a generic term used to market services to the South Coast town from both Victoria and London Bridge stations.
